Step 2:

Community Based Groups at Gallery 966

Our tutor led classes at Gallery 966 run weekly and participants can attend for as long as they want. Delivered by our Lead Artist, these groups are fun and engaging and every week there is a new creative activity to try. The groups are attended by the same participants, meaning that those joining can get to know others in their groups and form connections, utilising the peer support model.

Participants do not have to attend our Step 1 outreach programme first, if they are happy to do so, they can join our Step 2 community based classes directly. Our groups last for two hours with a refreshment break, with all materials and equipment provided – just bring yourself.

Referral Criteria:

The Creative Steps service is for adults (over 16 years old). Our groups are for individuals experiencing a mental health condition such as depression or anxiety. All of our classes are free.

Self-Referral to Community Classes:

If you would like to find out more or join one of our groups, please get in touch for a chat. We will arrange a time to meet with you so that you can see the group space and ask any questions. If you are happy to proceed and join one of our groups, we will look at your availability and find a place for you. We have groups running from Monday to Thursday: all groups do the same activities. On your first day, we will greet you and take you to meet our tutor and the group. All of our groups are friendly and relaxed so you will be made to feel very welcome.

Referral information for Health and Professional:

If you are interested in referring one of your service users to our programme, please get in touch by phone or email. We will arrange a referral meeting with the individual, which you are more than welcome to attend with them. If you work within one of our outreach locations, please get in contact with the designated staff member who coordinates the groups within your place of work to make a referral.

If you are interested discussing partnership work and running outreach groups at your location, please get in touch.
