Aged between 16 and 25, the trainees are just starting out in their careers. Working with our media team they form a community production unit, which uses filmmaking as a tool for community engagement, to raise issues and represent local voices. Through working with youth groups, organisations and charities, producing short films and promotional media, the trainees build their creative media skills as well as their knowledge of, and opportunities within, the charity sector. With a mix of hands-on production training, specialist masterclasses delivered by our production partners, and participation on filming projects, we also work with the BFI Skills Builder programme to set the foundation for progression into the Creative Industries.
